Karin Rainho, a pediatric occupational therapist, woke from a dream and wrote Little Spirit for her infant daughter, Gracie. Using photos of Gracie, I imagined her as a four-year-old exploring nature to create the illustrations. I also designed the layout and typography for Little Spirit and helped Kairn self-publish it on several platforms and print copies for her daughter and her young clients. My illustrations for Little Spirit were longlisted for the 2023 World Illustration Awards in the category of Children’s Publishing.
